Ep.9 – Tremont House

On this episode of Strange Town, we make a return trip to Galveston, TX. This time we are given the extremely rare opportunity to put our investigative skills to the test at the Tremont House. The Tremont House is an 119-room, Victorian-era style luxury hotel that occupies an entire block on the Strand District. The hotel has undergone 3 iterations – it has faced despair, fire, and one of the most disastrous hurricanes Texas has ever experienced. In its most current resurrection the Tremont House occupies the former Leon & H. Blum building – which acted as a mortuary after the great 1900 Hurricane struck the island. Ep.8 – The Clay Pit

We are the first team to ever investigate The Clay Pit, and our experience there only made us want to go back for more… In 1854, 8 years after Austin officially became the capitol of Texas, pioneer and merchant Rudolph Bertram had a limestone building constructed in what is now part of Downtown Austin. The building was used to house his general merchandising store and to provide his family a living quarters upstairs. Much tragedy has occurred within the walls of this building, many of which can still be sensed. Today, its home to a popular contemporary Indian restaurant – The Clay Pit It is no secret that the restaurant is said to be haunted. What is not known, however, is by whom or by what? Is it that a member of the Bertram family never fully left? Is the cellar inside haunted by the soul of a murdered woman nicknamed the Scarlet Lady? Ep.6 – The Living Inn

We visited the oldest neighborhood in Austin, Judges Hill, just blocks from the University of Texas. Where we were the first paranormal team granted access to investigate The Inn at Pearl Street, which was a once abandoned building now turned modern day bed and breakfast, and a home that used to belong to a well respected judge in the early 1900’s. Guests and staff have reported mysts, shadows, apparitions, and other unexplained poltergeist activity. Throughout the building, music and disembodied footsteps are also heard – when no ones around.
